Chatting with Jarvis on WhatsApp

Jarvis lives inside your WhatsApp group. It reads every message and replies when it can help. This page covers the eight things you actually do.

1. Ask a question​

Just type. In a small group, Jarvis replies to everything relevant. In a busy group, your operator may have configured Jarvis to only respond when you @mention it — check with them.

Ada: @Jarvis 上個月我哋 Acme 個 order 有幾多發票未收?
Jarvis: 三張未收，總共 HK$247,300。要我 draft reminder email 嗎？

2. Attach a file​

Drop a .pdf, .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, image, or voice note into the group. Jarvis reads it. No caption needed, but a short caption helps it know what to do:

Supported inline: PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX (and legacy .xls), plain text, most images. Videos are transcribed if under two minutes.

3. Send a voice note​

Jarvis transcribes voice notes, treats them as text messages, and replies either in text or (if your operator enabled it) in the same voice back. Speak in whichever language you prefer — most personas auto-detect.

4. Correct Jarvis​

If Jarvis gets something wrong, tell it. Direct language is fine:

Jarvis: 收到，記低咗。之後我用返 PO-2026-0447。

The correction is remembered for this group — other groups Jarvis serves never see it.

5. Undo the last reply​

Not sure Jarvis's reply is good? Say /undo — the last exchange is removed from context and Jarvis reconsiders. Or just tell it in your own words: "唔好呢個 reply, 重新諗過".

6. Start a fresh conversation​

For a completely new topic, say /new or /reset. Jarvis's short-term memory clears. Long-term facts (your PO number examples above) survive.

7. Ask what Jarvis can do​

Say /skills. Jarvis lists the tools available to this specific group: things like pdf_summarize, send_email_draft, calculate, etc. The list is intentionally scoped — you will not see tools your operator has disabled.

8. Stop Jarvis​

If Jarvis is mid-reply and you need to stop it, say /stop. If you are having a private conversation among humans and want Jarvis to stay quiet for a while, /mute 15m mutes it for 15 minutes.

Things Jarvis will not do​

  • Send messages to people who are not in this group without you asking.
  • Approve payments without a second explicit confirmation.
  • Share what it knows about this group with any other group.
  • Continue if you tell it to stop.

If Jarvis does any of the above, tell your operator immediately.

When Jarvis says "let me pass this to a human"​

Some questions Jarvis is not supposed to answer alone — legal advice, sensitive personnel matters, refunds above a threshold. When that happens, Jarvis will say so and (if configured) tag your operator. Wait for a human to reply.

Where things go wrong​

  • Jarvis replies in the wrong language. Just tell it, "please reply in English" or "用中文答我". It sticks for the rest of the session.
  • Jarvis references something you never said. Copy the exact quote and send it to your operator. This is usually a stale memory that needs cleaning up.
  • Jarvis has been silent for hours. Check with another user first — if they can send messages Jarvis is receiving them, the reply chain is the issue. Otherwise the bot may be offline; ask your operator.
